Our oldest daughter, Meghan, was born in June. She is the reason we began planning this bakehouse last fall. It was our way to find a sense of purpose in the face of an unimaginable loss.  We wanted to create something meaningful in her honor.  Juneberry Bakehouse grew from that place.

Baking has always been a part of our family.  It is how we celebrate special days, gather everyone around the table, and turn simple ingredients into something wonderful to share.  We learned to love baking from the generations before us, and in a way, it is part of how our own family began-working together in a bakery many years ago.

That love of baking became a special part of Meg’s story.  She became a talented pastry chef, turning her passion for the craft into something uniquely her own.  Before her passing in 2024, baking had become an important part of her life, through her work and at home.  The care and creativity she poured into it shone through beautifully.

Juneberry isn’t simply a way for us to remember Meg.  It’s a way to carry her forward with us--in the things we make, in the people we meet, and through acts of kindness along the way we know would have mattered to her.

We want the bakehouse to be a place where you can find freshly baked loaves of bread, old-fashioned pies, and the kind of cookies and treats that remind you of something you loved growing up, of family, and of coming home.

There is so much woven into this journey.  There are memories, family traditions, new beginnings, and one very special June baby who will always be the Heart of the Juneberry story.
